Shivamogga: Four taluks of the district- Shivamogga, Bhadravathi, Shikaripura, and Soraba have been declared as drought-hit taluks. The government will make sure that the regions do not face drinking water and fodder scarcity said district in-charge minister DC Thammanna.
Addressing a news conference, the minister said that Rs 50 lakhs will be released for each drought-hit taluk. Steps will be taken to ensure water and fodder and relief for farmers who have faced crop loss is underway.
He said that at present there is no water paucity, but as per official reports, 216 villages may face issues. Such villages will be taken care of. The Minister directed the officials to visit villages that may face water paucity.
