Shivamogga: A fair price shop in Sheshadripuram, Shivamogga had its licence suspended for alleged discrepancies in providing services to customers during the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Food and Civil Supplies informed that they had received complaints that Aftab Stores run by Ibrahim Sharief was selling ration allotted for the months of April and May to card holders at inflated prices. Apart from that, during an inspection, the shop was found to be closed during working hours even though the distribution of ration was pending.

Information pertaining to prices and the stocks were improperly displayed and there were differences between the actual stock and the amount of physical stock entered in the ledger.

The department officials further informed that those card holders who were collecting their ration from this shop can now collect food from the Jai Bharath fair price shop on BH Road.
