Shivamogga: Deputy Commissioner K A Dayanand has passed orders on the removal all the plastic buntings put up in the city and instead use the cloth counterpart.
This order was given on the account of Eid Milad that is being celebrated, today, i.e., on Wednesday, November 21.
This decision was taken in a 30-minute meeting that was chaired in the DC’s Office, on Tuesday, November 20.
In response to the orders, the Muslim community leaders had assured of not using the plastic buntings.
The pro-Hindu organisation had staged a protest, on Tuesday, November 20, against plastic buntings in the city.
They said that earlier, the buntings were put up only in the vicinity of the Jamia Masjid in Gandhi Bazaar, but this time they were raised all along the 1 Km Jamia Masjid-Shivappa Nayaka statue stretch.
