Shivamogga: Regarding the industrial township and the funds allocated for it, the Machenahalli Village Panchayat had submitted the No Objection letter to the district administration, based on which a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner K A Dayanand here on Monday, February 18.
Addressing the committee meeting, DC Dayanand said, “The industrial township will be constructed on 800 acres of land and this will help in the development of industries. Regarding the same, a notice will be issued to the municipality departments concerned in order to execute this plan as soon as possible.”
He said, “Among 604 acres of land notified in Survey No.120, 21 acres have been transferred to the KIADB (Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board) and a roll out on the remaining 582 acres will be out soon.”
Already instructions regarding the same have been passed on by DC Dayanand to the district sub-divisional officer.
He also ordered the department officials concerned to provide a clean toilet, pure drinking water and electricity to be provided in the township.
President of the development authority of township, Ramesh Hegde said, “This township should become a model township of the state.”
He directed the Bhadravati City Municipal Council saying, “About 10 acres of land was allotted earlier for waste disposal and it is still not implemented. Proper footpaths and necessary basic facilities shall be in place.”
Zilla Panchayat CEO Shivarame Gowda, Shivamogga Sub Divisional Officer Prakash, Shivamogga Chamber of Commerce President J R Vasudev and others were present.
