Its been 70 years since India's constitution came into force, and during this period the nation has witnessed several developmental changes. We have faced several challenges regarding development and have successfully faced and solved them, making this nation stand tall among all the other countries in the world.
India is the only nation in the world with such diverse cultures and traditions. This is a multi religious, multi ethnic country with a vast population, and yet we stand together as one nation, leaving behind all the indifference.
A nation is regarded as a prosperous nation if all its citizens can avail food, shelter, education and medical facilities. And by providing these facilities to all its citizens, India has drawn the attention of the world. Moreover, our nation has made outstanding achievements in the field of science, technology and space, gaining international appreciation.
Every village in the country has basic facilities like water, schools, hospitals, transport etc.
The coalition government which came to power in Karnataka on May 23, is working on making this state a prosperous one. Comprehensive development of Karnataka is our motto.
Under the guidance of our Honourable Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, the Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition government has been implementing various schemes which will uplift the farmers of our state. The loan waiver scheme has also been implemented, which will relieve the farmers of their debts.
'Badavara Bandhu' scheme has been introduced to provide loan for the poor, which will help them start their own small scale business and live with dignity. We are committed to providing everyone with their own land and shelter.
Measures have been taken to tackle Kyasanur Forest Disease which was first reported in the district's Sagara taluk. The government and the district administration is committed to finding a permanent solution to this lethal illness.
It is a pleasure to celebrate the 'Sahyadri Festival' once again, after 10 years, to complement the district tourism.
It is the duty of every citizen to maintain peace and harmony in society. Let us respect the rights of our fellow citizens. We have to strive to save multi-culturalism that has been maintained by us for centuries.
It is important for us to understand and respect the 'Constitution of India' written by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, and act according to it.
It is the responsibility of the youth of this nation, which was built by the hard work of great men, to face all the challenges and make this nation even more great and prosperous.
My best wishes to all once again.
Jai Hind, Jai Karnataka.
