Agumbe: The police questioned a group of revelers put up in a local resort, suspecting them to be naxal sympathisers, here on Friday, April 22.
The group of three women and three men hailing from Kerala was put up in a resort here. They had come to Agumbe from Kerala via Mangaluru.
However, the police who got a tip off about their stay visited the resort and questioned the group.
As per credible information, one of the women in the group is daughter of Roopesh, who is serving jail in Coimbatore after being convicted in naxal attack.
The group told the police that they are all childhood friends and hail from Calicut in Kerala.
Since the police found no evidences to prove its claim that the group was that of naxal sympathisers, they had to let go of them.
The group has headed to Sringeri, it is said.
