Shivamogga: Bharatiya Janata Party MLA K S Eshwarappa has filed a complaint with Superintendent of Police Dr. Ashwini, here on Sunday, April 7, claiming that his life is underrated threat.
Speaking to media about this, Eshwarappa said, “In a press meet that was organized in Koppal, Janata Dal (S) leader Iqbal Ansari had accused the BJP of denying tickets to Muslims. I was asked a question in a press meet regarding the same, to which I had replied that the Karnataka state Muslims had still not got faith on the BJP, which was the reason that none from that community was given a ticket to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha election.”
“As I was travelling in the Inter City train on April 5 from Bengaluru to Shivamogga, I received an international call and on receiving the call the caller raked up the same issue and said that the BJP is anti-Muslim. He abused me with unparliamentary words and also threatened me. I have also given a counter response”, he added.
Meanwhile, the complaint letter which states that he was travelling from Bagalkot to Shivamogga and his media response that he was travelling from Bengaluru to Shivamogga, has given scope for confusions.
