BJP bags both mayor and deputy posts in Shivamogga

Shivamogga: In the poll for the new mayor and deputy mayor conducted in the Shivamogga City Corporation, Lata Ganesh and Channabasappa from the Bharatiya Janata Party were elected for the respective posts, here on Wednesday, November 28.

Among a total of 40 members, 39 had cast their votes by raising their hands.

In favour of Lata Ganesh and Channabasappa, 26 members raised their hands.

Mayor candidate Manjula and the deputy mayor candidate from Congress (name not mentioned) got 12 votes each.

It is for the first time that Lata Ganesh is elected as the mayor and the member of the Shivamogga City Corporation as well.

Lata Ganesh represents Ward No. 6.
