Shivamogga: In another week, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa will become the Chief Minister, said MLA K S Eshwarappa while speaking at a victory function.
At the event organised at the BJP office, the MLA said that the coalition parties were talking of throwing the BJP out of the state along with its roots and now they themselves have no face to show.
It can be recalled that B Y Raghavendra, son of BS Yeddyurappa, was the BJP’s candidate from the Shivamogga constituency and won the elections with a huge margin.
“When the entire world was praising PM Modi, Siddaramaiah was addressing him in the singular. Now, the people have given him a befitting reply and after that, one has to go in search of both CM H D Kumaraswamy and Siddaramaiha,” he said.
When the Lok Sabha election results were announced, infighting began among the between the alliance partners and it has now blown up. Many Congress MLAs are ready to join the BJP and in one week, BSY will take the oath as the new Chief Minister, he added.
“The coalition government thought that they could win in Shivamogga like they won Ballari and Congress troubleshooter D K Shivakumar spent money like water here, but the people of Shivamogga blessed the BJP candidate with more votes,” he said.
The MLA then advised the JDS and Congress leaders to take heart and not take drastic steps such as suicide.
Newly elected MP B Y Raghavendra, BJP district president S Rudregowda, MLA KB Ashok Naik, Deputy Mayor Channabasappa, S Dattatri and D S Arun were also present.
