11 coalition candidates and 3 BJP candidates secure SHIMUL Board of Directors’ post

Shivamogga: Fourteen candidates, have won the election for the Board of Directors of Shivamogga Milk Union Limited (SHIMUL). Among them eleven are Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition candidates and three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates.

As many as 31 candidates had contested for 14 posts from Shivamogga, Sagar, Davanagere and Chitradurga regions.

One representative from every Milk Producers Association gets to vote for the candidates contesting for SHIMUL Board of Directors’ post. A total of 835 representatives casted their votes.

Dinesh, Taranath of Thirthahalli and Anand of Bhadravati won from Shivamogga region. Sripaadh Rao, Vidhyadara and Chandra Shekar won from Sagar region, Jagadeeshappa Banakar, BG Basavarajappa, HK Basappa and Somashekar won from Davanagere region, and Thippeswamy, Yashwanth Raj, Bhagya and Veerabhadra Babu won from Chitradurga region.

Yashwanth Raj, Dinesh and Sripaadh Rao are BJP candidates and the 11 others are coalition candidates. Out of the 14 elected Directors, 8 are newly elected. All the 14 elected candidates will serve as Directors for the next 5 years.
