It looks like the golden age for the Tulu film industry is back. After the blockbuster success of “Girigit”, all eyes are on upcoming Tulu film “Zabardasth Shankara”, directed by renowned actor Devadas Kapikad, which is all set for release.
The film is presented by Jalanidhi Productions and Bolli Movies and produced by Anil Kumar and Lokesh Kotian.
The film, said to be technically advanced, is making a buzz in Tulunadu and other parts of the country. Insiders say that the film has come out really well.
Today language is not a barrier and a film can do wonders in any language when dubbed. “Zabardasth Shankara” looks like the next big thing in Coastalwood. The film’s team has already held discussions regarding dubbing rights for Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The success of Roopesh Shetty-starrer “Girgit” has caused a rise in people’s expectations for “Zabardasth Shankara”. Sanjay, a journalist said, “It looks like ‘Zabardasth Shankara’ will carry forward the success story of ‘Girgit’. The film has generated a good buzz in Tulunadu and the team is confident of striking gold with the content. It is being said that the director, Devdas Kapikad has crafted the film in a never before been seen manner. The film is also generating a lot of buzz in other parts of the country.”
“‘Girgit’ showed how big the market for Tulu films is. A film with good content that is marketed well, can do wonders. ‘Zabardasth Shankara’ has all the ingredients to join the list,” he said.
Arjun Kapikad plays the titular character of the film, Shankar. This will be his tenth film as a lead actor in Coastalwood. He has already given several hits such as “Are Marler”, “Barsa”, “Chandi Kori”, “Dhanad” and “Rang”. With this film, he is expected to increase his market range.
Nishmitha and Neetu play the female leads.
Apart from directing the film, Devdas Kapikad has also written story, screenplay and dialogues. Sujith Nayak has edited the film and Siddhu G S has handled the camerawork.
Popular Sandalwood music director Manikanth Kadri has composed the music for the film and Mass Madha has choreographed the stunts. The dance numbers have been choreographed by Star Giri.
“Zabardasth Shankara” is said to be a commercial film which has hints of comedy, action, romance, suspense and thriller. The songs are said to be the highlight as they have been given a traditional touch.
