Twitter was flooded today with tributes and messages in commemoration of the 91st birth anniversary of the Late Dr Rajkumar, the Kannada film industry’s legendary and most revered actor.
However, considering the current situation and in compliance with the lockdown guidelines, the legendary actor’s son Shivarajkumar urged the fans to celebrate at home. The family visited the legendary actor’s Samadhi to pray for his soul.

Born Singanalluru Puttaswamy Mutturaju on April 24, 1929 and brought up in Gajanur in the Chamarajanagar district, Rajkumar started his career as a theatre artist and later become a world-renowned actor. During his career, he acted in 210 films.
He debuted in “Bedara Kannada” which was released in 1954. He also worked in films like “Chandavalliya Thota” (his 50th film), “Hannele Chiguridaga” (his 100th film), “Bidugade” (his 150th film) and “Guri” (his 200th film).
Recipient of several awards, including the coveted Padma Bhushan, Dr Rajkumar is considered to be the most loved public figure in Karnataka.
