Mangaluru: A new Tulu movie ‘My name is Annappa’ released at Jyothi film theatre on Friday, September 21.
Prior to the release, a programme, a programme was organised, which was inaugurated by Odiyoor pontiff Gurudevananda Swamiji. After inaugurating the programme, the seer said, “the films, which are produced in Tulu languages must protect Tulu culture. Tulu films are theatres must strive at protecting and nurturing the language. Along with entertainment, films should also give a strong message to the society,” he said.
Film producer Prakash Pandeshwar informed that along with the film `My name is Annappa` another film `Yera ullerge` has also released today.
“I wish success to both the films,” he said adding that the film has been released in Jyothi theatre, PVR, Big Cinemas and Cenepolice in Mangaluru, Ashirvad in Udupi, Inox and Big Cinemas in Manipal, Amarashri in Moodbidri, Planet in Karkal and Bharath theatre in Beltangady.
Film director Dr. Richard Castelieno, Yakshagana Bhagavatha ( playback singer) Patla Sathish Shetty, actors like Naveen. D. Padeel, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor among others were present.
