Kannada movie goers have been expecting quality content from filmmakers these days. Rishabh Shetty and Rakshit Shetty are two people who are looked up to when it comes to filmmaking. On Thursday, Rakshit Shetty launched the most anticipated trailer of Rishabh Shetty-starrer "Hero", on the occasion of Sankranthi.
The trailer has crossed over 1 million views in just a few hours of being released on YouTube.
"Hero" is a sharp, crime-comedy thriller. Rishabh Shetty has produced and also plays the role of a hairstylist who is seen romancing the villain's wife.
The goon is played by Pramod Shetty, while Ganavi Lakshman of "Magalu Janaki" fame plays the female lead in this witty movie.
The poster for debutant director M Bharath Raj's "Hero" had created quite a stir and the trailer is no less, according to the industry. It has been shot in beautiful locales in the Western Ghats. Manjunath Gowda plays a pivotal role in the film, which was conceptualized and conceived during the lockdown.
"Hero is the first movie that was shot post lockdown and the whole film was shot with just 24 crew members, when it usually takes at least 100 members," said Rishabh.
"I play an underdog who later becomes the hero," he added.
Ajaneesh Loknath has scored the music and the film has been edited by Pratheek Shetty. The story is written by Bharath and Anirudh Mahesh. Arvind S Kashyap is the cinematographer.
The film will be distributed by Jayanna films, although the release date is yet to be finalised.
"Hero" was initially set to release on an OTT platform, but the makers now want to take advantage of the fact that theatres are once again open to the public.
Meanwhile, Rishabh has a few intersting films in his kitty along with "Bell Bottom 2" and "HariKathe Alla Girikathe".
