The Varamahalaxmi festival has always been a lucky festival for Sandalwood. In the past, many blockbusters have been released during this period. Normally, during this period, big budget films of big stars are released. This year also, the much-hyped Shivrajkumar and Sudeep starrer, “The Villain” was slated to release on this date. Even the director, Prem announced that the film would be released on this day.
But, due to some unforeseen circumstances, the film’s release has been pushed to September. This has led to August 24 being the most wanted release date in Sandalwood. The first film to try and grab the date was “Ondalla Eradalla”, which is a children’s film from the same director as that of “Rama Rama Re”. The second film to be released on this day will be “Sarakari Hiriya Prathamikshala Kasargod”. The film, directed by Risabh Shetty, is making waves due to its trailer and songs. The film will be releasing on August 23. Both these films are children’s films.
Now, another film is set to release this weekend. Dinakar Thoogadeep’s directorial “Life Jothe Ond Selfie” will be releasing during this time. The film stars Prem, Prajwal and Hariprriya in lead roles and is a tale about friendship.
With three films of acclaimed directors releasing during the same weekend, we can expect a wonderful weekend for Kannada film lovers.
