The blockbuster movie “Kurukshetra”, which has been in theatres for 75 days, has released in Kerala this week. The 2D and 3D versions of the epic drama, produced by Munirathna and directed by Nagannda, has been released on October 18, in more than 100 theatres across Kerala. “Kurukshetra” is also Sandalwood star Darshan’s 50th film.

Based on the poem Gadhayuddha by Ranna (which is the representation of Mahabharata from the point of view of Duryodhana) the film features Darshan playing Duryodhana alongside other actors including Ambareesh, V Ravichandran, Arjun Sarja, Srinath, Srinivasa Murthy, Shashikumar, Nikhil Kumar Danish Akthar Saifi, Sonu Sood, Yashas, P Ravishankar, Sneha, Megha Raj, and Haripriya.

The film did not do well among Telugu and Tamil audiences. However, it was a blockbuster in the Kannada language. We will have to wait and see how the Malayalam version of the film fares.
