Released last Friday, “Lungi” opened to good response from the audience, as well as the critics. The good word of mouth has also contributed to an increase in occupancy in theatres.
Commenting on the film, Sumith S Rao, a film buff said, “‘Lungi’ is an interesting name for a Kannada movie. The name itself generates an interest to watch the movie. I went to see the movie expecting nothing but I came out with a sense of joy after watching such an uncomplicated, comfortable and wholesome love story which can be enjoyed by the whole family. Pranav comes off as a very relatable ‘boy next door’ sort of character, the heroine is not overly melodramatic and at the same time very pleasing. A superb first film for the actors and the producer. I got my money’s worth.”
Pranav Hegde plays the lead role and Ahalya Suresh and Radhika Rao play the female leads. Prakash Thuminadu, VJ Vineeth, Karthik Varadaraju, Deepak Rai Panaje and Roopa Vorkady play pivotal roles.
The film, made under Khara Entertainment’s banner, is directed by Arjun Lewis and Akshith Shetty. The technical crew includes Prasad K Shetty (music), Rijo P John (cinematography), Manu Shedgarr (editing), Mahesh Yenmuru (art direction) and Rakshith Rai (co-direction).
