Popular Tamil actress Lakshmi Rai, who has her roots in Karnataka, is back in Sandalwood after a gap of six years. She was last seen in “Kalpana” opposite Upendra, which released in 2012. After nearly six years, she has taken on a project that is being directed by PVS Guruprasad.
The film has been titled “Jhansi” where Lakshmi’s character has been contemporarised. Her character fights against injustices taking place in society.
Produced by Rajesh Kumar, the film will go on floor on August 29. Lakshmi Rai recently made her debut in Bollywood with “Julie 2”. However, the film was a box office disaster, which resulted in her shifting her focus back down South.
