The audio launch of Darshan's much hyped 50th film Kurukshetra was held with a grand fanfare on Sunday, July 7. Thousands of fans witnessed this event. MLA Munirathna who has produced and written the film, was seen making last minute arrangements. He had made news when he had submitted his resignation as Congress MLA.
Darshan made a grand entry. He thanked producer Munirathna for taking such a big risk by investing in the project. He also thanked the whole team and said that even though the film was delayed, it was worth the wait. The other starcast of the film Srinath, Ravichandran, Srinivas Murthy, Sonu Sood, Nikhil Kumarsamy, Yashash, Meghana Raj, Ramesh Bhat, Danish Akthar and Shashi Kumar were also present.
This is Naganna's second historical. In the past, he had directed Sangolli Rayanna starring Darshan, which was a blockbuster. Hoping to repeat the same, he thanked Munirathna for giving him an opportunity to direct this magnum opus. "I feel proud be a part of this film. There are many heroes in this film. However, for me the real hero is Munirathna. Without him, this film would not have been possible. He did not even think twice before investing so much money. This film will create history," he said.
Munirathna becomes emotional
MLA Munirathna became emotional remembering Late actor Ambareesh. Munirathna said that he missed Amabareesh, who has played Bheeshma's character in the film. Ambareesh was initially not interested to be a part of the film. However, Muniratna had persuaded him.
Nagendra Prasad and Darshan's connection
Nagendra Prasad who has written the dialogues as well songs in the film said that he has a special connection with lead actor Darshan. "I had written lyrics for all the songs in Darshan's debut film Majestic. And now for his 50th film Kurukshetra, I have written lyrics for all songs. I hope my journey with Darshan continues even for his 100th film," he said.
Political presence of DK Brothers
Just two days before DK Shivakumar had torn Munirathna's resignation. However he along with his brother DK Suresh came and wished the team. DK Shivakumar said that Munirathna is his close friend and they know each other from 40 years. He wished the film the best.
However the biggest disappointment of the evening was the trailer. Just below 2 minutes, the first half of trailer only had title card and the remaining was just a copy paste of recently released Kurukshetra teaser. Only the last sequence of fight scene between Duryodhana and Bheema was added in the trailer, which led to huge disappointment among the fans.
The film which has music by V Harikrishna is all set to release on August 2. the film will be distributed by Rockline Venkatesh. It will be releasing in five languages.
