KGF has been making news since the day it was first announced. The film garnered a lot of hype thanks to Yash's hardcore fans. For the past two years, Yash directed all his focus to making this film and did not work on anything else. Fans were upset when the film kept getting postponed, but their patience has paid off. KGF is one of the best films to come out of the Sandalwood film industry. Henceforth, the industry will probably be defined as the 'pre-KGF period' and 'post-KGF period'.
The story of the film is simple. But the way in which it has been presented is what sets it apart from the others. Prashant Neel sems to be a huge fan of 80s films and he should be given full marks for the presentation of the film.
The story begins with Rocky's (Yash) birth in 1951. He loses his mother at a young age and ends up in Mumbai, where he enters the underworld after assaulting a police officer. He grows up to be a dreaded monster who ends up killing many people. News of his work reaches Bengaluru and he is called upon to kill Garuda, the man who rules KGF.
However, he fails in his first attempt and now, the only way to kill Garuda is to go inside the mines and kill him. Will Rocky kill Garuda? Does he have any other motive to go to KGF? Will he survive in KGF? You will get answer to all these questions in the film.
Yash lives the role of Rocky. No other actor could have played this role. His attitude and swag, along with his acting talent makes the film a must watch. Srinidi Shetty makes a good debut although she has very less screen space. The remaining cast has also done their job well.
Coming to director Prashant Neel, he has already joined the league of top directors. After presenting a classic like "Ugramm" as his debut, there were chances of him failing in his second attempt. He is known for his hero build-up shots and has done his best.
On the technical front, the film is the best in Sandalwood so far. From the camera work to art direction, the film is stunning to say the least. The background score is another masterpiece. Each shot of the film showcases a grand visual.
All in all, the film is a must watch. Please do watch the film in a good theatre near you.
