Bengaluru: If not for his ill-health, Irrfan Khan would have had acted in a Kannada film.
Yes, Khan, an acclaimed actor, who had acted in Bollywood and Hollywood films was likely to act in a Kannada film, if his health had been on his side.
Kannada’s renowned director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, who had Amitabh Bachchan acting in his Kannada film ‘Amritadhaare’ wished to bring Irrfan Khan down to Sandalwood.
As pr sources, Nagathihalli had even spoken and narrated the film’s storyline to Irrfan and the later had liked the story.
Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with cancer and had to leave abroad for his treatment.
Even when he returned to India after treatment, Irrfan was busy shooting for his pending projects and that is why he could never turn his attention towards regional films.
Nagathihalli told Filmibeat that he was planning a science fiction and had done all the research in this regard.
Since it was a film which needed huge investment, the producers were not willing to put their money on new faces.
“Hence I scouted for a seasoned actor and Irrfan was my first choice,” the Director told adding that he met Irrfan through a common friend and spoke about the story.
Despite having liked the story, Irrfan had turned down the project claiming that he was unwell.
