Hemanth Hegde’s “Sa”, a film that starred J Karthik, Samyukta Hornad, Vijay Suriya and Hemanth himself, was shot almost entirely on Muthappa Rai’s estate in Sakleshpur.
It can be recalled that former underworld don Muthappa Rai lost his years-long battle with cancer on May 15.
Speaking to Bangalore Times, Hemanth had said that Rai was a close friend and allowed him to shoot the film at his estate. “…when I requested permission to shoot at the estate, he (Rai) said yes, but added that he will never again open his doors to filmmakers,” he said.
The screenplay for “Sa” was done by Hemanth himself and the music was by Veer Samarth.
