It looks like Telugu films are getting inspired by Kannada films these days. With the success rate of Kannada films going high, there has been an increase in the demand for Kannada remake rights in Tamil as well as Telugu. In the past too, Kannada films have been remade or dubbed in Telugu but this renewed attention serves as recognition of new-age Kannada cinema which has been consistently churning out critical and commercial hits that have cut across regional boundaries.
“First Rank Raju” is one of the latest films that will be remade in Telugu. Maruthi, who’s presenting the Telugu remake, was impressed with the way in which the message oriented film was told in a humorous way. However, history has not been kind to Telugu filmmakers when it comes to Kannada remakes. A vast majority of them have failed to do well in Andhra Pradesh. But, filmmakers are sure that “First Rank Raju” would be liked by the Tollywood audience.
“First Rank Raju” was released in the year 2015 and was made by a team of newcomers. While Gurunandan and Apoorva made their debut as lead actors, Naresh made his debut as director with this film. The film was an instant super hit.
