Bengaluru: Veteran actress Dr Jayanti has been selected for the prestigious Dr Rajkumar Cultural Award 2019 by the Kannada Sahitya Parishat.
The decision to confer the award on Dr Jayanthi was taken unanimously in a meeting of the Kannada Sahitya Parishat chaired by Manu Baligara. SA Chinnegowda, Karnataka Film Chamber president and other office bearers of the Karnataka Sahitya Parishat were also present in the meeting.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 30,000 and award. Karnataka Sahitya Parishat honorary secretary VC Channegowda said that this award is conferred on people who contribute to film and literary fields.
