The Kannada and Marathi film industries are very similar in many aspects. Both the industries have a small market and have to compete with big films of other languages in their home states. However, with so many factors against them, they have been churning out big hits. The reason for that is content. We have seen films from Marathi being remade in Kannada and vice versa. Now, another Kannada film is being remade in Marathi.
Chandra Mohan’s latest directorial, “Double Engine”, which was released last week, seems to have interested the Marathi film industry. Marathi producer, Pramod Bakadiya has shown interest in remaking the film in Marathi. The producer watched the movie over the weekend and approached the director and distributor, Uday K Mehta.
“Double Engine” is a comedy thriller that features Suman Ranganath, Chikkanna, Ashok and Prabhu Mundkur among others in the cast, and is doing well at the box office.
