‘Kavacha’ starring Shiva Rajkumar is all set to release on this Friday, April 5.

Debutant director G V R Vasu got the opportunity to direct ‘Hat-trick Hero’ in his very first film as a director and he says it is undoubtedly a great experience for him.

‘Kavacha’ is based on super hit Malayalam film ‘Oppam’, and is remade in Kannada with modifications in the story so that it appeals to the local audience.

Shiva Rajkumar plays the role of a blind man in the film. The film has an ensemble cast of Kruthika Jayakumar, Isha Koppikar, Vashista Simha, Baby Meenakshi and Iti Acharya.

Reportedly, Shiva Rajkumar who was reluctant at first to act in the film, agreed later after the story was narrated to him.

The film is produced by M V V Satyanarayana and A Sampath and music is composed by Arjun Janya. Rahul Shrivastav has done the cinematography.

“Shivanna has acted in 123 films so far. He is a versatile actor who has acted in films like ‘Jogi’, ‘Tagaru’, ‘Janumada Jodi’ and ‘Thavarige Baa Thangi.’ Depicting him as a blind man in the film was a challenging task for me. Without Shivanna’s co-operation, it would not have been possible for me,” says director Vasu.

Vasu said that he himself acted the role for Shivanna before starting to shoot. The director who has worked with Ram Gopal Varma in a couple of films says that RGV is like a university and there is no end to learn from him.
