Actor Chethan has been vocal about his stance on various issues and recently he had made a statement which was perceived to be against the Hindu sentiments. However, barely few days after he made the statement, it seems that his film ‘Atiratha’ is paying the price.
The movie opened to an average response last Friday and adding to the woes, Hindu outfits have demanded a ban on the film.
Chethan of “Aa Dinagalu” fame is also an activist. He is said to have supported the Lingayat religion tag fight. This has not gone down well with the Hindus. Many Hindu organisations have termed this as anti-Hindu and have staged protests to stop the screening of the film because of Chethan’s anti-Hindu remarks.
Chethan organised a press meet regarding this and has said that he is not anti-Hindu. He said it is not proper on their part to stop the screening of the film, as many people were involved in the making of the film.
