Bengaluru: Challenging Star Darshan released the audio of much-hyped Kannada film “Anukta”. The film which has been making news due to its teaser had audio launched at Kalavaidara Sangha building on Monday, November 19.
Darshan was greeted with coastal Karnataka’s pride “Huli Vesa” (tiger dance).
The event was hosted by Anurag, a well known RJ and Tulu actor from Mangaluru.
There are four songs in the film. Two songs were performed on the stage. Lead actor Karthik Attavar also performed to one of the songs on the stage. Later Darshan released the audio of the film officially.
Speaking on the occasion, Darshan said, “I did not know the meaning of ‘Anukta’. I initially thought its Sanskrit word. But later the makers told me it means ‘Untold’. The teaser and songs show that film has lots of mystery attached to it. This is a very good experimental film. I feel, the audience is showering love on these types of experimental films in recent days, which is a very good trend. All like to watch commercial films. But films like these will do well and keep everyone involved. In the Kannada industry, we are observing a trend of experimental films rising in recent years,”
Speaking about films of different languages, Darshan said, “People in Karnataka are known to learn other languages. We interact in other languages with outsiders. We try to convince them in their language. We do not make an effort for them to learn our language. The same way we also watch their films. We give preference to their films. If someone wants to watch an experimental film, they end up watching Tamil film. If someone wants to watch a mindless commercial film, they end up watching Telugu film. And if someone wants to watch a well-presented film with no importance given to the story, they end up watching Hindi film. At last, they give preference to watch Kannada film. This has been our condition. But times are changing. Good films are being made here.”
“I wish the team all the best. The film looks very promising. I am sure it will do well. I want to congratulate producer Harish Bangera for investing in ‘Anukta’. It is great to see Anu Prabhakar in this film. I have known her for many years and she has not changed even a bit. She looks the same. I would want to know the secret of it. I am a huge fan of Sampath Raj. We are meeting after a long time. It is always great to meet him. With actors like these in the film, the team would have benefitted greatly,” he added.
Anu Prabhakar also spoke about her experience in the film. She said, “I am really sorry, as I have to rush today. I have three months old daughter waiting for me at home. When I was approached for the film, I really liked the character. I felt it was very apt for me and I agreed to be a part of the film. I am paired with Sampath Raj, who is a great actor. I am thankful to our producer Harish Bangera and our director Ashwath Samuel. They have worked very hard for the film.
“It’s great to see Darshan launching the music at Kalavidara Sangha, of which I am a committee member along with Darshan. Karthik Attavar has done a great job not only as an actor in the film but also as a writer of the film. I see a great future in him,” she concluded.
Multilingual actor Sampath Raj also spoke on the occasion and said, “Today’s hero is our music director Nobin Paul. He has done excellent work in the film. His music and background score is an asset to our film. I am really thankful to Darshan for gracing the event even in his busy schedule.
“Karthik Attavar came and narrated the story to me. I was impressed with my character as well as the story. The team had done an excellent job in pre-production. The film was scheduled to be shot in 38 days. However, they finished two days earlier. This shows their excellent planning work. And this was all done by a team of youngsters. I am paired with Anu Prabhakar in the film. In the past, I had played a role of her father, and now I play a character as her husband. Cinematographer Manohar Joshi has toiled to get the best shots and, indeed he is a special mention. I used to see him lift those heavy cameras after every scene. Such was his dedication”, he added.
The release date will be officially announced soon.
Ashwath Samuel has directed this film, which stars Karthik Attavar, Sangeetha Bhat, Sampath Raj, Anu Prabhakar, Mukharjee and K.S Shridhar in pivotal roles.
The technical team includes cinematography by Manohar Joshi, art direction by Devi Prakash and editing by N M Vishwa.
Young talent Keerthan Bhandary has written lyrics for all the songs in the film. PRK Audio which is owned by Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar has released the audio in their music company.
