Abhishek Ambareesh’s debut film “Amar” was released last week and has received a mixed response from the critics and audience. Some of the critics have gone so far as to term the movie ‘trash’ but lead actor Abhishek is unaffected by the negative reviews.
Speaking to the media during the success meet of the film, he said, “I do not get affected by these reviews. When we made films, there will be people who will not like it. As a performer, my job is to entertain the maximum number of people and I think I have been successful in that, as ‘Amar’ has collected a good amount all over Karnataka. Yash called me after the film’s release and asked me not to focus on the mixed reviews. He told me that even his magnum opus ‘KGF’ was criticised by a few. If ‘KGF’, which broke each and every record in the history of Kannada cinema can be criticised, then it doesn’t mean anything if our film is criticised.”
Meanwhile, according to the film’s makers, “Amar” is making excellent collections across the state. They will be soon travelling to other cities to promote the film.
