Mumbai: Just a day after a leading daily reported that Ranveer Singh was suffering from depression because of a personal loss, the actor slammed the report saying it was a ‘classic case of utterly irresponsible journalism’.
According to the report in the daily, one of the actor’s close friends committed suicide. Before ending his life, the friend had posted about his wish to end his life on Facebook. But before anyone could help him out he shot himself, because of which Ranveer was suffering from ‘grief mixed with guilt’.
The report also stated that Ranveer then visited a therapist and his conditioned improved. Earlier this year the actor’s alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone also came clean about her depression.
In his post, Ranveer said, “Yo @dna @TusharrJoshi @SaritaTanwar … That was uncool, uncalled for and an outright disrespectful imposition.”
“Talk about Monday morning blues. Picked up yesterday’s paper and read this ‘fairy tale’ of my depression about an intensely personal tragedy. Much worse, it was shamelessly aligned with another person’s conflict and both these unrelated stories were made to connect for a sensational effect; deplorable to say the least. Figment of one’s imagination now taken to another level, in which there’s a dramatic twist about a therapist too! Ludicrous! Obviously, the journo didn’t bother to check the veracity of this ‘news’ with me or any one of my representatives- Appallingly unethical! Classic case of utterly IRRESPONSIBLE
