Raichur: Following the mysterious death of 23-year-old engineering student Madhu Pattar, the Raichur city police have started installing pink boxes in all the educational institutions in the city. These boxes will be opened twice a day.

According to police sources, the city women’s police have taken up this initiative to ensure that the girl students can freely lodge complaints related to harassment and other problems.

It can be recalled that the decomposed body of Madhu Pattar, a civil engineering student of an engineering college in Raichur, was recovered from a deserted area on the city’s outskirts on April 16. She had gone missing on April 13. After a lot of hue and cry from students, politicians and others, the police arrested a youth in connection with the death.

Presently, the CID police are investigating the Pattar death case using all relevant modern technologies.

The city women cops also increased patrolling around the schools and colleges of the city to ensure that the girls will not be harassed.
