Raichur: In a twist to the alleged suicide of Madhu, an engineering student of Raichur, whose decomposed body was found on April 16, her mother Renukadevi alleged that a youth was harassing her since her PUC days. However, the same youth has been detained by the police.
It can be recalled that the decomposed body of a 23-year-old girl was recently found hanging from a tree in a remote area in Raichur. Although it was initially said that she, an engineering student, committed suicide, hue and cry over the issue on social media and in the Raichur district, has forced authorities to take a second look at the case.
After the girl’s story gained traction, police detained a youth, who is said to be a friend of the deceased. He is currently being questioned.
Speaking to the media, Renukadevi alleged that the accused youth is not her classmate, but a gardener in a college where Madhu studied.
“He was harassing my daughter, but she never revealed the issue to us. If she had informed us she would not have met this fate,” she said.
“His love was one way. He was after her when was in PUC, but my daughter never acknowledged or reciprocated the same,” she said adding that Madhu never would have gone to such a distant place all alone. “We want a comprehensive investigation into the case,” she said.
