Raichur: The CCB sleuths arrested a man from Raichur, for allegedly duping medical seat aspirants on Tuesday.
Police said that the man arrested, Jithendra Sankuratri (33), a resident of Sindanur in Raichur, is an MBA graduate who was operating the scam from his house on Lavelle Road from the last four years. He used to promise the victims a seat in renowned colleges for a steep fee.
But this time, his attempt failed when two of the victims Hanumanth Rao and Anjaneya Reddy, filed cases at J.P. Nagar Police Station and HSR Layout Police Station two weeks ago.
Investigations revealed that Jithendra had taken Rs. 85 lakh from the duo, of which police have recovered Rs. 71 lakh. Police are questioning him to ascertain the identity of his associates.
