Raichur: In a heart-wrenching incident, a father committed suicide after coming to know that his daughter was sexually assaulted.
The incident was reported from a remote village in Sindanur taluk of the Raichur district.
According to sources, the girl was sexually assaulted on January 24 by her own friend.
The police registered an FIR on the same. After the incident was brought to his notice, the victim’s father reportedly slipped into depression.
He committed suicide on Sunday, February 2 night, by consuming pesticides.
A case has been registered by the Sindhanur police.
