Raichur: In a shocking incident, the dead body of a woman was buried alongside a road as her grave was encroached upon by a landlord. The incident has been reported from the Sunkanura village of Raichur’s Maski taluk.
According to the police, 60-year-old Muttappa Yamanura passed away on Wednesday, August 28 night. Since the land that was marked for her grave had been encroached upon by a landlord, the woman’s family was left with no choice but to dig up a grave by the side of the road and bury her.
The villagers alleged that neither the Gram Panchayat nor the Taluk administration had resolved the issue despite their repeated complaints.
Upon hearing the news, Tehsildar Balarama Kattimani rushed to the spot and met with the family members of the deceased.
As of now, the Taluk administration has decided to convert an acre of land into a graveyard.
