Mumbai: House sparrows were once a common sight in our surroundings. These chirpy birds are rarely seen in the today’s concrete jungle.
Every year the World Sparrow Day is celebrated on March 20. In this spirit, a few individuals have made an effort to save these birds from vanishing from our surroundings permanently. Rons Bantwal, a journalist, is one among them.
At his home- “Love View”-in Chakala, Mumbai, Rons has nurtured a mini flower garden where more than 60 sparrows have made their homes in just one year.
It is truly a cheerful sight to see such “chirp”-ful life spring back in the heart of such a vast city.
According to Bantwal family, the sound of the birds is like a melodious symphony that sparks joy and refreshes the mind.
