CISF unit of MIA takes water conservation initiative under ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan’

Mangaluru: In pursuance of the directions regarding the observance of the ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA)’, CISF personnel of Mangalore international airport has undertaken various initiatives at unit line as well as neighbouring villages/Schools to ensure the water conservation and water resources management. The details of the programmes are as follows

1. Preparation of Rain Water Harvesting Pit
Two numbers of rainwater harvesting pits have been constructed at the unit line to preserve the rainwater at the unit line area.

2. Campaign March to spread awareness
A campaign march to spread awareness about the importance of water conservation and water resources management among the local public has been conducted at nearby Village Sidharth Nagar and Bajpe.

3. Awareness Programme at Nearby School
In order to spread the awareness about the significance of water preservation for future. an awareness camp of ‘Jal Shakti Abhiyan’ has been conducted at Urdu Government Higher Primary School, Permude.

4. Tree plantation
Tree plantation event was carried out at unit line in which CISF personnel, as well as family members of CISF personnel, participated and 100 saplings were planted at the unit line and peripheral area.
