Hunsur: The Superintendent of Police Abhinav Ashok Khare suspended two police officials on the charges of accepting bribe on Saturday November 8.

The SP reportedly suspended the Hunsur Inspector Mallesh and Bilikere Head Constable (HC) Ramesh on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from three persons.

It is learnt that the trio identified as Girish Kumar, Dore and Mahesh lured people with rice pulling magic pots (Akshaya Patre) claiming that the pot would attract rice grains. The alleged police officials on learning this did not take any action or file a case against them. They instead took money and let them go.

The three cheated people and extracted lot of money from citizens; on realizing that they had been cheated the individuals went to the Police Station to lodge a complaint. However Inspector Mallesh and HC Ramesh, instead of registering a case against the three, let them go scot free after collecting a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh.

It is reported that Bilikere HC Ramesh, who had arrested the three accused on September 11, informed Hunsur Inspector Mallesh, who came to the Station and took a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from the accused and let them go without filing a case.

Meanwhile, those who had been cheated by the black magicians approached SP Abhinav Khare, who asked Dy SP Vikram Apte to probe the matter and submit a report.

Based on the interim report given by Apte it was found prima facie against Mallesh and Ramesh, following to which the SP ordered the suspension of the two cops.
