“Amid the pandemic, we are offering free food to Covid patients, hospital staff, police, and needy people every day. I have visited the villages of my constituency to spread Covid awareness among the people. Late night we even went to Sadaran Gas Agency of Harihara to bring the oxygen cylinders when there was a shortage of oxygen reported in the government hospital. We have saved the lives of over 45 Covid patients admitted to the government hospital by providing oxygen cylinders at the right time,” he informed.

“Till now 63 oxygen concentrators have been brought to the hospitals. And on my request Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 1 crore to build an oxygen production unit in Honnali,” he said.

“I have donated 4 ambulances to serve Covid patients and they are available 24/7 to help the Covid patients. Many times I have driven the ambulance to help the Covid patients,” he added.

Bapuji Hospital in Shivamogga owned by the MLA has also converted as Covid Care Centre with 120 oxygenated beds. A sum of Rs. 9000 was given to all the poor families who lost their family members due to Covid 19. MLA also has taught Yoga to Covid patients in H Kadadakatte during his visit. With increasing numbers of cases, 50 beds were donated to the already established CCC at Honnali.

“I assisted in cremating the body of a Covid victim and also cremated the body of a Bengaluru-based IT expert who died of Covid in a Honnali taluk hospital a month ago, despite villagers’ objections,” he said.

Honnali legislator has been doing yeomen service to Covid patients at a time when people flinch from serving Covid positive patients for the fear of infecting the virus. His honest efforts have won the hearts of people.
