The first-ever oxygen generation unit in Dakshina Kannada district is operational in the premises of the community health centre, Vamadapadavu in Bantwal taluk.
Speaking to News Karnataka MLA Rajesh Naik said, “the unit is the first-ever oxygen unit to have been set up at Vamadapadavu to meet oxygen shortage arising out of coronavirus in the district. Apart from this, health facilities at the Vamadapadavu CHC and other government facilities, including Bantwal taluk hospital, are being strengthened to handle the likely third wave of COVID-19 efficiently.”
Further, he said “To help the people of my constituency I have donated 25 oxygen cylinders to the hospital worth Rs. 10 lakh on personal ground. We have launched “Bantwal BJP Kshema Nidhi” created to fund education and other needs of students from poor families. The fund is primarily created to fund the expenses of children who have lost their parents due to Covid – 19,” he added.
“All gram panchayat members are taken into the task force committee of Covid control to handle the Covid crisis. Families that are affected due to Covid can avail help from the war room of MLA. Gram panchayat is working to instill confidence among the members of such families too,” he informed.
“Fight against Covid – 19 is going on in an organised way in the taluk. The district administration, Covid warriors, and officials are working hard together to curb the outbreak of Coronavirus. Even after the lifting of the lockdown, we will continue the efforts in this regard to prevent the further spread of Coronavirus,” he added.
