Dubai: With immense dedication, hard work and perseverance, Kannadigaru Dubai, Namma Kundapra Kannada Balaga Gulf and Shiruru Association managed to send back more than 170 passengers, who were stranded in UAE due to COVID-19 pandemic. The cause was ably supported by Appam House restaurant, EMC International DMCC, and Electric Way LLC.
The chartered flight equipped with medicial facilities, arranged with the help of NDC Impex Gen Trading LLC ferried these passengers, including pregnant women from Ras Al-Khaima to Mangalore on June 29.
The passengers also included people who had lost their jobs, the ones who had come to the UAE on visiting visas and senior citizens.
The passengers were provided with food kits and refreshments on departure by Appam House, Silicon Oasis and Goodie bags were given to pregnant women and children.
Food kits were provided on arrival by NDC Impex group to all the passengers. Also, four passengers who were not in a position to pay for their tickets were given free tickets through Electric Way LLC and Elegant Kitchen Equipment LLC.
The organizers thanked Karnataka Member of Parliament from Shivamogga B Y Raghavendra, Dr Arathi Krishna - Former Deputy Chairperson - NRI Forum of Karnataka for their support to arrange the flight and also main sponsors Arjun Janerio Moras (Chairman of NDC Impex General Trading Dubai) Nihad Aziz (MD of NDC Impex General Trading Dubai) and Arafath Aziz (MD of NDC Impex General Trading Dubai), who make the project possible.
Sadahn Das, Glen Dsilva, and Ershad Ali, organizing committee members also thanked all UAE officials, the Consulate General of India-Dubai, and RAK Airport authorities for their help to run the process smoothly. The committee has paid gratitude to Naveed, Basheer Sheik, Vasu Devadiga and Manjunath for their support.
