Doha: Karnataka Sangha Qatar, a frontline community in Qatar under the aegis of the Indian Embassy, will be celebrating the Karnataka Rajyotsava on November 15 at the DPS auditorium, Wakrah, from 4 PM onwards.
Speaking to Newskarnataka.com about the upcoming event, KSQ president Venkat Rao said that this is the 20th year that the KSQ (an associate organization of Indian Cultural Centre) is celebrating the Karnataka Rajyotsava. For this occasion, they have invited popular Sandalwood actor “Power Star” Puneeth Rajkumar (Appu) to grace the event with his presence.
Indian Ambassador to Qatar, P Kumaran will be the chief guest.
Rao also said that, writer, novelist and professor, Padma Shree Dr Santeshivara Lingannaiah Bhyrappa (Dr. S L Bhyrappa) will be conferred with the "Qatar Kannada Samman" award for 2019 on the occasion.
Sree Harsha and Mythri Iyer, famous playback singers will sing the old and latest hit songs. Local artistes will also perform during the grand event.

Santeshivara Lingannaiah Bhyrappa is a Kannada novelist whose works are popular in Karnataka. He is widely regarded as one of modern India's popular novelists. His novels are unique in terms of theme, structure, and characterization. Books written by him have been translated to Hindi and Marathi and have also been top sellers. He was awarded with the 20th Saraswati Samman in 2010 and in March 2015, he was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship. Bhyrappa was even given the civilian honour of the Padma Shree in 2016.

M R Shree Harsha is a versatile singer who has won the National Level A.I.R. Competition three consecutive times (2013, 2014 and 2015). He has been giving performances for the past ten years.
