Phase III clinical trials begin for UAE coronavirus vaccine

Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Health Services has begun conducting new trials under Phase III of the COVID-19 vaccine preparations.

As per a report by Khaleej Times, these trials are being supervised by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with G42’s Sinopharm CNBG.

Lauding the UAE leadership’s support for the clinical trials, Dr Nawal Ahmed Alkaabi, CMO of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, and Chairperson of the National Covid-19 Clinical Management Committee, said that the trials have already attracted volunteers from over 20 nationalities.

While over 10,000 people have already registered as volunteers, registration is still open to those volunteers who are interested in participating in the Phase III trials of the Covid-19 inactivated vaccine. Those interested can register on through the website www.4humanity.ae.

The health department is looking for up to 15,000 volunteers to take part in the clinical trials and a minimum of 5,000 participants in the first stage of the programme.
