Qatar: In an effort to promote the Konkani language and culture, Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Qatar will present two Konkani dramas on April 26 at the DPS Modern Indian School Auditorium, Al Wakrah at 5 PM. This ‘Natak Fest’ is being done as part of the organisation’s mega cultural programme being held on the occasion of its 27th annual day.
The highly acclaimed Konkani comedy plays “Budthugol” and “Paying Guest”, written and directed by Arunraj Rodrigues, will be performed by “Kalakul” Konkani’s lone professional repertory (troupe) run by Maand Sobhan, Mangaluru.
The MCC has decided to take a bold step to entertain the Konkani theatre loving people of Qatar by staging the two plays, as Konkani plays are making a major comeback and the people are eager to watch quality Konkani plays. The organisation is confident that its step towards promoting Konkani language and theatre will be appreciated by the people.
During the nearly three-hour-long stage play, talented and renowned artistes will mesmerise the audience with their electrifying performances on stage.
