Abu Dhabi: The Konkani Cultural Association (KCO) Abu Dhabi will be holding a major Konkani event “KONKANI CULTURAL DAY” on April 27, from 10.30 am to 5 pm at the Indian Social and Cultural Centre, Abu Dhabi.
Entry to this event will be free for all participants and audience. A simple lunch will be served for all those attending the event.
The event will be held as a competition between the various Konkani cultural troupes of UAE who will be performing a Konkani skit, Konkani group song, group dance and surprise item.
Various attractive prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competitions. The prizes will be for Group Winners and Runners Up, Best All-Round Performer, Best Child Artist, and Best Surprise Item.

Please Note: Only the first 10 entries will be accepted.
Rules and Regulations:
- Maximum group strength – 16 members per group (Men/Women/Children).
- Participants for skit, song and dance – Maximum 8 members per item.
- Maximum number of participants for ‘surprise item’ shall be 4 from each group.
- Each group will be allowed a maximum of 20 minutes to perform all 4 Items.
- The maximum number of groups shall be limited to 10.
- Lots will be taken at 10 am on April 27 at the ISC premises to decide the group sequence.
- Participants should present items reflecting Konkani culture and the age-old traditions and practices.
- All participants should be Konkani Catholics.
- Participants should not use the stage to present anything that hurts other individuals, religions, politicians or associations.
- The use of fire, water and alcohol shall not be allowed on the stage.
- For the group song, a maximum 3 musical instruments shall be allowed:
- Keyboard
- Non-Electric Guitar
- Non-Electric Tabla or Bongo drums.
