Abu Dhabi: The KCO felicitated and bid farewell to Yenmakje Sudhir Kumar Shetty and his wife, Sheela Shetty recently, at the Cristal Hotel in Abu Dhabi.
President Valerian Dalmaida, along with advisors Leo Rodrigues, Michael D’Silva and Dolphy Vas, led Sudhir and Sheela to the dais, after which the three advisors appreciated Sudhir’s support for the KCO and the communities at large when he was with the UAE Exchange. They also recalled their interaction during the last 28 years when he was in Abu Dhabi on various occasions and wished the couple the very best for their future.
Recalling how he knew Sudhir from their days in back in Mangaluru since in the late 1980s as professional colleagues and later in Abu Dhabi, Valerian Dalmaida said that Sudhir has the same smiling face, humility and groundedness in spite of reaching the highest position of President of the UAE Exchange. He then wished the two a happy stay in Mangaluru.
Following this, Sudhir and Sheela were felicitated and honoured with a shawl. Sudhir was given a Mysore Peta, garland, memento and fruit basket and Sheela was given a bouquet of flowers.
Responding to the felicitation, Sudhir said that he will always remember the well-organised functions of the KCO, who are known for their meticulous preparations and execution. He also shared his life experiences with the KCO family.
The KCO then bid farewell to the couple after a scrumptious dinner.
Earlier, Claudia Lobo led the prayer session.
The programme was compeered by KCO vice president Vivek Serrao. Valerian Dalmaida welcomed the couple and the other members.
