Abu Dhabi: India has been invited as the ‘Guest of Honour Country’ at the ADIBF 2019, scheduled to be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre (ADNEC) from April 24 to 30.
The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) is organised by Department of Culture & Tourism (DCT), Abu Dhabi under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. It is an annual event held since 1981, which aims to develop the book and publishing industry and promote reading habits in the UAE.
The ADIBF is the most professionally organised, ambitious and fastest growing book fair in the Middle East and North Africa. National Book Trust, India (under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India) is representing India as the Guest of Honour at the ADIBF 2019, through an India Pavilion spread over 1,000 square meters. Over 40 Indian publishers and famous authors will also be brought to the fair. Several events, showcasing Indian Culture with the participation of Indian celebrities besides yoga sessions, story telling sessions and panel discussions etc., are also being organised at the ADIBF 2019.
