Abu Dhabi: The world famous Mysore Dasara Festival is referred to as ‘Nada Habba’ and the Sports festival held as part of Dasara is equally famous.
Keeping this in mind, Hemmeya UAE Kannadiga team has organised the ‘Dubai Dasara Sports Meet-2020’, the culmination of which will take place today, October 30, at 4 pm.
Para-Athlete, Arjuna and Padma Shri Awardee Malathi Krishnamurthy Holla will be the chief guest of the ceremony, where prizes will be given to winners of various sports events.
Malathi Krishnamurthy Holla will also receive the prestigious ‘Dubai Kreeda Ratna award’ from the Hemmeya UAE Kannadigaru, for her exemplary achievements in the field of sports, overcoming her physical disadvantages.
Former Indian volleyball champion Imtiaz Ahmad and former Indian swimmer Srihari Nataraj too will be feted during the event.
Philanthropist Mohammed Mustafa, who is also the founder of M Square Engineering Consultant and news presenter, singer Shruti will be the guests of honour.
Thousands of participants from all corners of Karnataka have been participating in the events held over the last few days as part of the celebration. These events were all held online due to the COVID pandemic. Quiz, chess, carom, ludo, rangoli, Dasara Gombe competition, Kavi Goshti and Antakshari were organised for men, women and children.
