Mysuru: With about three months to go for the completion of courses, all eligible Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) students of the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute of Management Development (SDMIMD) have been placed in reputed companies with increased compensation. This is for the third consecutive year SDMIMD is achieving this feat.

It’s yet another year of sterling achievement at SDMIMD as it completes 100 percent placement of the PGDM 2018-20 batch, well ahead of the course’s completion. A total of 38 leading companies visited the campus so far for the final placements. The companies that visited the campus are from diverse sectors like manufacturing, information technology, banking and financial services, FMCG, start-ups, consulting and analytics. The banking and financial services sector hired the highest number of students, followed by the information technology companies.

SDMIMD is a premier B-School ranked among the top management institutes in India by various surveys, the Government of India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). The Institute has international accreditation from the EFMD (EPAS) and from the ACBSP. It is accredited nationally by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).

N R Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD was of the view that the consistent placement achievement has been made possible due to the exhaustive and intensive activities that the students were put through during their two-year PGDM course. These include a high level of academic rigour, opportunity to learn beyond the boundaries of the curriculum through summer internship programmes, live projects, applied research, international students exchange programs, and by imbibing leadership skills through participation in management fests conducted by premier institutions of the country. Further, the students have been actively involved in organising and participating in seminars, conferences and participation in activities of over twenty student-learning clubs. He also indicated that the institute has various plans for its students including enhancing job-based skills, on-the-job internship and an active entrepreneurship-awareness programme.

R Sugant, Professor Marketing and Chairperson Career Services said, “The stellar performance of our students resulted in SDMIMD not only achieving 100 percent placements of eligible students but also saw the average salary go up to Rs 7.7 lakhs. While our regular recruiters like Infosys, TCS, EY, Morgan Stanley, HDFC, Mahindra Finance, Ujjivan continued to repose their faith in us, the year also saw other reputed companies like Deloitte, Federal Bank, Nobroker.com, Cafe Coffee Day bring our students in large numbers. We are sure that our students will prove to be valued contributors in these organisations.”
