Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar is Mysuru’s new king

Mysuru: After 14 months of break, the Yadhu dynasty’s next king Yaduveer Gopal Raju Urs who will be called as Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar’s adoption ceremony was held in the presence of few invited guests on Monday.

The rituals started at early in the morning. Starting the programme with the usual manner of royal dynasty, Ganapathi homa started at 5am and later it was followed by Mruthyunjaya homa and Navagraha homa.

The adoption ceremony Mahurtha which was at 1.20pm to 1.52pm was termed as the auspicious Mithuna Lagna, Yaduveer was adopted by the Wadiyar family. On one end, Pramoda Devi who participated in the adoption ceremony received Yaduveer from his parents Swaroop and Tripura Sundari Devi.

All the Urs community people were invited and the community people marked the day with sheer happiness and joy. Meenakshi Devi Avaru, Kamakshi Devi Avaru, Indrakshi Devi Avaru and the youngest, Vishalakshi Devi Avaru were present during the ceremony.

On behalf of the royal family, Varchas Siddalinga Raje Urs performed in the Someshwara temple and Bhyraveshwara temple. The procession was held inside the palace premises with elephants and members of royal family’s participation.

On the occasion, the naming ceremony was also organized and Yaduveer new name, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar was told in his ears three times as per the rituals.

Only invitees were allowed inside the palace premises on Monday and police were deployed in all the gates of the palace to restrict entry for others. Soon after the puja, as tradition Yaduveer was taken in a brand new decorated car inside the palace premises.

A royal treatment was given to the invitees as they had a sophisticated lunch organized by the royal family after the adoption ceremony.

Procession of the new king

The procession will start from the Aane Bagilu of the palace and will proceed northwards to enter the Balarama Gate. The procession will enter the Kote Anjaneya Temple, go around the Chamaraja statue circle, come back to Kote Anjaneya Temple, enter the palace through the Jayaramarthanda Gate to proceed towards Varaha temple (via Somehshwara temple and Trineshwara temple) and reach Ane Baagilu via Chamundi Thotti.

Yesterday

A day before adoption ceremony, Phala puja was organized at Yaduveer grandfather Madan Gopal Raj Urs house at Lakshmipuram at 7am. Five kadu mane puja was held which was attended by many members of the family including Pramoda Devi.
